The M132 was a U.S. flamethrower variant of the M113/M113A1 APC developed in the early 1960s. About 350 vehicles were accepted into service after a prototype first appeared in August 1962. It mounted an M10-8 flame gun (with a coaxial 7.62 mm M73 MG), able to traverse 360° and elevate to 55° / -15°. Four 50-gallon spherical tanks gave 200 gallons of fuel, enough for roughly 32 seconds of continuous fire and an effective range of about 200 meters. The M132 offered armored protection for its crew
